Maggie Will, a three-time LPGA Tour winner, enters her second season as the head coach of the Richmond Spiders women's golf team.
Will is coming off an impressive first year at the helm of Richmond, where she was tabbed CAA Coach of the Year and inducted into the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame.
Will guided the Spiders to two tournament wins in the same season for the first time in program history. Additionally, Will guided the Spider to six top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes. Richmond carded eight of the best 11 single-round scores in program history.
"We are extremely excited about Maggie Will joining the Spider Family," Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator LaRee Sugg said at the time of Will's hiring. "Her coaching experiences within the ACC and the CAA conferences, as well as her accomplishments as a player and teaching professional, make her a great fit for where we hope to position women's golf moving forward."
Will comes to Richmond after serving as an assistant coach at UNC Wilmington during the 2011-12 season, helping the Seahawks to their second-straight CAA conference championship and NCAA Championship Regional appearance. While at UNC Wilmington, Will helped mentor three members of the CAA All-Conference Team and two NGCA All-Scholar athletes.

Prior to her time at UNCW, Will was an assistant coach for two years at N.C. State. During her time at N.C. State, Will helped the Wolfpack post one tournament victory, a NCAA Championship Regional appearance and guided Brittany Marchand to her first collegiate victory. The Wolfpack also recorded seven top-10 finishes. Individually, nine players combined for 15 top-20 finishes, while Brittany Marchand qualified for the 2011 U.S. Open following her freshman season with the Wolfpack.
Will also served as an assistant coach for the VCU men's team in the fall of 2010 and served as a teaching professional at The Creek Club in Locust Valley, New York.
A member of the LPGA Tour since 1989, Will fashioned an impressive 21-year playing career that featured wins at the 1990 Desert Inn International, the 1992 Sara Lee Classic and the 1994 Children's Medical Center Classic.
Will played some of her best golf on the tour's biggest stages, recording at least one top-15 finish in four of the five majors. Will also served on the LPGA's Executive Committee from 2000-2002.
A four-year letter winner at Furman University, Will sparked the Lady Paladins to a runner-up finish in the 1987 NCAA National Championship. She graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
In addition to her playing and coaching career, Will has written columns and articles for several national golfing publications and recently combined with several other professionals and teachers to compose The Best Putting Instruction Book Ever! She is also the founder and owner of Get Fit For Putting, LLC, a lesson-based and putter-fitting business.
