Laura Mapp was a member of the field hockey, basketball and tennis teams. She went on to work at Bridgewater College as an associate professor of physical education and coach of women's field hockey, basketball, and tennis. A 1954 UR graduate, she posted more career basketball coaching victories (344-184) than any other active Division III coach and ranked fifth among all Division levels. In 1986, she was awarded the first annual Carol Eckman Award by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. She was also selected the women's basketball Coach-of-the-Year in the ODAC in both 1986 and 1987.
