Spiders Win Sixth Straight, Down Appalachian State 86-60

BOONE, N.C. (AP) - Greg Stevenson scored 19 points to lead Richmond to an 86-60 victory over Appalachian State on Thursday night.
Kinte Smith added 13 points for the Spiders (7-1), who extended their winning streak against ASU (3-9) to eight games in renewing a series that last saw the teams meet in the 1975-76 season.
Josh Hare scored a season-high 14 points for the Mountaineers, who outrebounded Richmond 48-33, with Donald Payne getting a game-high 13, but shot only 35 percent from the field.
Richmond hit eight of 14 3-pointers in the first half, including its first four from beyond the arc, to take a 38-15 lead with 6:57 left in the period. The Spiders led 51-24 at halftime and extended their lead to 33 points with 6:52 left in the game.
Tim Faulconer added 11 points for Richmond on 5-of-6 shooting and blocked five shots. Reggie Brown scored 10 points.
Josh Shehan scored 13 points for ASU, and Nick Huge had 10 and eight rebounds.
