RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Greg Stevenson scored 19 points as Richmond defeated North Carolina-Wilmington 73-70 on Wednesday.
The Spiders (14-5, 6-3 Colonial Athletic Association) got eight points from five other players.
The Seahawks (11-9, 4-5) were led by Barron Thelmon's 14 points. Brett Blizzard and Marcus Green added 12 each.
North Carolina-Wilmington led 42-34 at halftime after outscoring Richmond 12-5 in the final five minutes.
The Spiders controlled the tempo after the break, taking the lead until a Thelmon layup pulled the Seahawks within a point with 13.9 seconds remaining.
Kinte Smith hit two free-throws with 11.8 seconds remaining to give the Spiders a 73-70 lead, and Blizzard's three-pointer with one second on the clock fell short.
