Richmond will also be televised next week at Delaware by CN 8, with that telecast being picked up locally in Richmond by WUPV-UPN 65. Airtime is 1 pm.
A Perfect Defense... For the second time during the Jim Reid-era, the Spiders posted a shutout with a 28-0 win against Rhode Island ... The last time Richmond shutout its opponent in consecutive games was during the 1973 campaign when the Spiders began the season with three consecutive shutouts.

Richmond ranks No. 1 in scoring defense (16.3 points/game), total yards (284.1 yards/game), rush defense (95.4 yards/game) and opponents' first downs (97 total for the season) ... Richmond also leads the Atlantic 10 in kickoff coverage, yielding just 13.1 yards per return.

Mike Millard's 42-yard touchdown was the first reception of the season for the senior ... Sophomore tailback Kenny Dantzler's four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the first of his career.

In 1948, the Spiders were shutout 19-0 vs. Maryland (Sept. 25) and responded with a 7-0 win at Furman (Oct. 8).
Points off Turnovers... Richmond has scored 31 points off its opponents turnovers this season, while its opponents have capitalized for 14 points off UR turnovers ... Junior Mark Thompson returned an interception 12 yards for a score at James Madison (Oct. 13) ... Later, the Spiders kicked a field goal after recovering a James Madison fumble ... The Dukes scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery ... The Spiders have also scored a touchdown off a turnover at Virginia, at Vanderbilt and vs. Rhode Island.
