VMI Rallies To Upend Richmond, 82-80

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jason Conley banked in two 3-pointers in the final 20 seconds Friday night to lift Virginia Military Institute to an 82-80 victory over Richmond in the first round of the Spider Invitational.
Conley hit the game-winner with 2.1 seconds remaining after Mike Skrocki's short jumper had put the Spiders ahead 80-79. Conley's other 3-point bank shot came with 19.3 seconds left.
Richmond (5-6) led 65-54 after Jeff Myers scored on a layup with 8:54 remaining, but the Keydets (5-4) rallied and took the lead 69-68 on a Conley 3-pointer.
Conley scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half. Radee Skipworth and DAron Pressley added 16 apiece for VMI.
Reggie Brown scored 30 points and Scott Ungerer scored 18 - both career highs - for the Spiders. Skrocki added 11.
