Wilson Wins Women's Long Jump At CAA Championships

Richmond, Virginia - Freshman Julee Wilson (Chester Springs, Pa.) was the top performer in the women's long jump on the first day of competition at the 2001 Colonial Athletic Association Track & Field Championships at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Virginia. Wilson registered a jump of 6.12 meters. The Spiders are allowed to compete in individual events, but will not figure in the team scoring.
Freshman Cortney Henschke (Rye, N.H.) was fourth in the women's pole vault with a mark of 2.60 meters. Freshman Emily Ward was fifth in the women's 10,000 meter run (38:40.75). Freshman Lyndsey Webber (Sayville, N.Y.) was sixth in the women's 5,000 meter run (17:44.69). Senior Matt LeGrand (Huntsville, Ala.) was seventh in the men's 10,000 meter run (31:37.18).
The Championships conclude on Saturday, April 21.
