Samuhel Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond senior goalkeeper Kristen Samuhel (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week on Monday for the week ending September 9. She registered 10 saves and posted the first shutout of the season as the Spiders defeated 14th-ranked Maryland on Thursday evening, 1-0. It was the 24th shutout in Samuhel's collegiate career.
Samuhel has recorded 15 saves in 135 minutes for the Spiders (1-1) this fall. She boasts a save percentage of .789 in Richmond's two contests.
Richmond opens its home campaign on Thursday, September 13 when they entertain East Carolina University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium on the campus of the University of Richmond.
