Samuhel Earns Another Honor

University of Richmond senior goalkeeper Kristen Samuhel (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) was named to the Soccer America Magazine Team of the Week. She was also tabbed the Atlantic 10 women's soccer Player of the Week.
Samuhel registered 10 saves and posted the first shutout of the season as the Spiders defeated the then-14th-ranked Maryland Terrapins on Thursday evening, 1-0. It was the 24th shutout in her collegiate career. Samuhel has recorded 15 saves in 135 minutes for the Spiders (1-1) this fall. She boasts a save percentage of .789 in Richmond's two contests.
Richmond opens its home campaign on Saturday, September 14 against UNC-Greensboro. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium on the campus of the University of Richmond.
