FAIRFAX, Va.- George Mason blanked Richmond, 1-0 in women's college soccer action Saturday afternoon at George Mason Stadium. With the loss, the Spiders fall to 2-3 on the season.
Patriots junior midfielder Caroline Kent scored the game-winner, a shot in the lower right corner past a diving Spiders' keeper Kristen Samuhel (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) at the 71:45 mark to lift the Patriots to the win. George Mason out shot Richmond, 11-9 in the contest and 6-5 in corner kicks. Samuhel collected six saves in the contest.
Richmond travels to Harrisonburg, Va. to face the James Madison Dukes Tuesday, October 2. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
