UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va.- The University of Richmond will face the University of Portland in the NCAA Women's College Cup third round on Sunday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Merlo Field in Portland, Ore. The Spiders advanced to the 'Sweet Sixteen' after defeating intra-state rival James Madison, 1-0 this past weekend.
This is the first-ever meeting between Richmond and Portland. It is also the first meeting for the Spiders and a team from the West Coast Conference (Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, St. Mary's, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara).
The Spiders (15-5-2), winners of nine of their past 10 games, are currently riding a five-game winning streak.
