Women's Soccer Halted by #8 Portland, 4-0, in NCAA Third Round

PORTLAND, Ore.-- University of Richmond women's soccer program saw its season come to a halt on Sunday afternoon, falling to the eighth-seeded Portland Pilots, 4-0, in the Women's College Cup Third Round at Menlo Field. The Spiders conclude their remarkable season with a 14-6-2 record, the most wins in program history.
The home team scored three goals within a seven-minute span in the first half, all coming from All-American Christine Sinclair. Portland added another score in the 52nd minute for the final.
Richmond goalkeeper Megan Cox registered nine saves on the afternoon. The Pilots out-shot Richmond, 34-6 in the contest.
