The University of Richmond men's basketball team continues its six-day road swing with a 7:30 p.m. contest TONIGHT against the Providence Friars. The Spiders, fresh off their 83-69 win over No. 17 Stanford on Tuesday, currently have six players averaging double-figure scoring.
Richmond holds a 2-0 advantage in the series with Providence. The last meeting occured in 1985, as the Spiders defeated the Rick Pitino-coached Friars by a 70-64 score in Providence. Dick Tarrant's team went on to start that season, 16-1 and earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
