UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
Something will give in this Atlantic 10 inter-division clash when the Spiders (13-10, 7-3 A-10 West) host Saint Joseph's (15-7, 9-1 A-10 East) Wednesday night at 7:30 in the Robins Center.
Richmond is 3-0 against the A-10 East while the Hawks are 3-0 versus the A-10 West. The Spiders are hoping to further solidify their second place spot in the West while St. Joe's is looking to move further ahead in the East.
The Spiders have won five of their past six including Sunday's second-place showdown triumph over Dayton. St. Joe's beat Fordham 84-77 Saturday despite the absence of head coach Phil Martelli (flu).
The Spiders are led by sophomore Mike Skrocki, who's been in double figures in all 10 A-10 games while averaging 17 points per game in league contests, and "Super Sub" Tony Dobbins,
who's scored 39 points in the past two games, including a 26-point, 10-rebound performance at St. Bonaventure last Wednesday.
St. Joe's features the dynamic backcourt of Marvin O'Connor (19ppg) and Jameer Nelson (13ppg) plus double figure scorers Na'im Crenshaw (14ppg) and William & Mary transfer Bill Phillips (11ppg, 54% 3-pt shooter).
Tickets are available at the Robins Center Ticket Office or charge-by-phone at (804) 289-8388.
There is no television for Wednesday's game. The Spider Radio Broadcast can be heard on RichmondSpiders.com, WRNL-AM (910) in Richmond, and via a live FM transmission within the Robins Center only at 88.7FM.
