PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Reggie Brown matched a career high with 30 points as Richmond shot 64.3 percent from the floor to beat St. Bonaventure 78-69 in the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals Thursday.
Jonathan Collins added 14 for Richmond (18-12), which will face La Salle on Friday in the semifinals. The Spiders were 17-for-20 on shots inside the 3-point line.
J.R. Bremer, one of the country's leading scorers, had 18 points on 6-for-21 shooting for St. Bonaventure (17-12). Patricio Prato had 19 points to lead the Bonnies, who shot 38.3 percent from the field and 17-for-44 from behind the arc.
The game took place almost entirely on the perimeter. The teams combined for 66 3-point attempts and all but 16 of St. Bonaventure's shots came from behind the arc.
Richmond used a 14-0 run to take a 56-34 lead with 14:39 to play. St. Bonaventure cut the lead to 10, but Richmond came back with five straight points to take a 68-53 lead with 4:54 left.
St. Bonaventure got it back down to six with 1:22 left before Richmond sealed it at the free-throw line.
Richmond held a 39-31 halftime lead thanks to 15-for-22 shooting. The Spiders jumped out to a 15-6 lead at the start and extended it to 31-16, before St. Bonaventure closed the gap. All 18 of St. Bonaventure's final points of the half came on 3-pointers.
