The University of Richmond's track and field renovations have been completed. Check out the photo galleries below to see the progress from the beginning of the project through the completion.
The newly renovated facility includes the following:
A) 8 X 400M oval lanes
B) 2X Long Jump/Triple Jump runways with multi-direction
landing areas (4 pits total).
C) Long Jump/Triple Jump Pit dimensions are
10 feet wide X 26 feet long-each.
D) Long Jump Runways will be 167 feet (~51M) in length.
E) For the Long Jump/Triple Jump...Multiple take-off boards
will be installed on the runways that will include
10 feet, 32 feet, and 40 feet take-off boards.
F) A multi-directional Pole Vault Runway with an enlarged
landing area (21.5 feet X 27 Feet) on each end.
G) Enlarged High Jump area (100 feet X 86 feet) connected
with ACO Drain to the first turn of the oval track.
H) 2 X Shot Put circles with water drains installed.
I) Both Shot Put Sectors have concrete curbing and
crushed stone installed in the landing area.
J) 2 X Javelin Runways (one on each end of the facility)
have been installed. They are 4 meters wide for the
entire length of the runway.
K) A discus/hammer circle has been installed.
L)The Steeple Water-Jump has been renovated with
a water line installed to the water-jump and
renovation of the drain line. A new barrier will be
installed to accommodate both the men's and women's event.
M) --Drainage improvements around the outside of the
oval track have also taken place.
