Women's Soccer Ends Regular Season Schedule

The University of Richmond women's soccer team completes their regular season action on the road this weekend. On Friday, October 31st the Spiders will kick-off against La Salle at 2 p.m., then on Sunday, Nov. 2nd they meet Fordham at 1 p.m.
Richmond (9-6-2, 7-1-1) leads the Atlantic 10 conference after defeating Temple, 2-0, and Saint Joseph's, 3-0, this past weekend. The strong defense, led by junior midfielder Meghan Ogilvie, has led the Spiders to four consecutive Atlantic 10 shutouts.
Conference Rookie of the Week freshman Brooke Binswanger tallied one goal, including the game-winner against Temple, in both of the shutout victories. Tied for second in the league, her eight goals this season leads Richmond with 18 points.
Senior goalkeeper Megan Cox tallied her sixth shutout of the season, and third consecutive, to gain the top spot among A-10 goalkeepers and leads the league with a GAA of .35 in conference games, only allowing three goals thus far. She has 61 saves on the season.
La Salle (2-12-1, 2-7-0) is coming off two 3-1 losses, Dayton on Oct. 24th and Xavier on Oct. 26th. Liz Schmidt scored her first goal of the year to tie the game early in the fall to Dayton. Krista Lee leads the team with five goals on the season. The last time the Spiders and Explorers met, Richmond won 2-0 and the Spiders lead the all-time series, 2-1-0.
Fordham (9-5-2, 5-2-2) lost both Atlantic 10 match-ups this past week to Dayton, 3-1 and Xavier, 1-0. Sarah Hopkins leads the Rams with 19 points. Richmond won the last meeting, 1-0 and leads the series, 2-0-0.
