UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's basketball team will open its exhibition season at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening in the Robins Center against GT Express.
Second-year head coach Jerry Wainwright and his Spiders have been practicing for two weeks and are anxious to hit the floor against another team.
"We'll be looking for a couple things," said Wainwright. "One, how will the new kids integrate with the older guys. And, are they more comfortable in what we're trying to do. We're really looking to pressure, up-tempo and use our whole lineup.
"Also, we'll be looking to see how much improvement the returning guys have made. And, like everyone else, you're always excited to see how the new kids will adapt to their first game in college basketball."
Ticket prices for this game and the Spiders' exhibition against Coaches vs. Cancer on Nov. 11 range from $3-$5 depending on the location.
