Women's Soccer Earns All-Conference Accolades

Five student-athletes from the University of Richmond women's soccer team earned All-Conference Accolades. Seniors Edda Gardarsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland), Megan Cox (Raleigh, N.C.) and junior Meghan Ogilvie (Springfield, Va.) were all named to the Atlantic 10's All-Conference First team, while freshmen Dani Amarant (Danville, Calif.) and Brooke Binswanger (Memphis, Tenn.) earned All-Rookie accolades, as announced by the league tonight.
Joining Cox, Gardarsdottir, and Ogilvie in the first team selection are Melanie Kasparek of Rhode Island, Erin Showalter of Dayton, George Washington forward Kimberley Warner;, midfielders Lauren Bracco of Duquesne, Dayton's Tesia Kozlowski and Beth McHugh; and back Corey Dunfey of Fordham..
The second-team is comprised of forwards Lindsey Fairweather of Massachusetts, Xavier's Lauren Giesting and Reba Sedlacek of Dayton; midfielders Megan Kasparek of Rhode Island, Fordham's Beth Purcell and Lindsay Yonadi of Xavier; and backs Lindsay Bruno of George Washington, Saint Joseph's Jen Harris, Tracy Kennedy of Xavier and Massachusetts' Michelle Luttati. The second-team keeper is Anna Handzlik of George Washington.
The All-Rookie team which consists of Amarant and Binswanger of the Spiders also included: Massachusetts' Stephanie Barrett; Nancy Cook of Saint Joseph's; Fordham's Sarah Hopkins and Holly Laubinger; Sarah Sample of George Washington; Megan Schutt of Saint Joseph's, Amber Silvis of Xavier; and Dayton's Sarah West and Jamie Yates.
The Atlantic 10's Championships kick-off at 5:30 on Thursday at First Market Stadium.
