Richmond Head Coach Jerry Wainwright:
"Dayton is a good team. It is difficult to be in the game when you shoot 30 percent. I thought we handled the pressure of the game very well."
"The bottom line is when you're playing a team that is ranked, you have to be better than that. We had a lot of shots around the basket that rimmed out. I attribute that to strength."
"They [Dayton] really know how to play together. They are the best team we've played, along with Wake Forest, in terms of taking advantage of mistakes."
"We had a shot to win the game, but they made the basket and we couldn't counter. We were really aggressive on the glass. I am disappointed, but this game is over. We need to walk into the gym the same way on Saturday night."
Dayton Head Coach Oliver Purnell
"I told our players that I wasn't happy with a lot of things, but I was happy with a win. I was pleased with our play down the stretch. We played a "six-minute" game. We had no turnovers and made free throws."
"I am happy to get out of here with a win."
Richmond Sophomore Jamaal Scott
"We knew we had a great opportunity to change things around. We were in a great position to win. But, we didn't do enough to win the game."
