WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Richmond women's golf team finished 21st at the 2003 William and Mary Invitational after firing a first-round 346. The final round, to be played today at the par-71 Ford's Colony Country Club Golf Couse, was rained out.
Freshman Lauren Ritter (Watchung, N.J.) led the Spiders and finished tied for 48th after shooting an 82. Classmates Elizabeth Cushing (Westwood, Mass.) and Lesley Monachino (Shaker Heights, Ohio) were five shots back, carding an 87, and tied for 90th.
Freshman Whitney McComis (Bridgeport, Texas) and sophomore Kristen Folgosa (Fayetteville, Ga.) also competed for the Spiders. McComis finished her round with a 90 while Folgosa carded a 94.
Richmond returns to the links at the Lady Dukes Invitational in Harrisbonburg, Va. from April 13-14.
