The loss was a school-record 14th straight for the Rams while the Spiders won for just the second time in the past eight games.
Fordham took a six-point lead, 44-38, on a John Blackgrove jumper with 9:28 left. The Spiders, who had been cold from the field up to this point (29.3% - 12-for-41), responded hitting seven of their next nine field goals - four of those three-pointers - to take a 54-50 lead with 2:51 remaining.
Dobbins started the run with a lay-up at the 7:44 mark and Patrick O'Malley and Myers followed with three-pointers to give the Spiders a 46-44 lead with 6:11 left in the contest.
Michael Haynes tied the game with a jumper 30 seconds later before Dobbins gave the Spiders a two-point lead, 48-46, with 5:19 remaining.
Haynes again tied the game for the Rams with 4:25 left before Myers hit a three to put Richmond ahead for good, 51-50, with 3:11 on the clock.
Another basket by Haynes pulled the Rams to within one, 51-50, a minute later but Myers again would hit a three-pointer 20 seconds later to give Richmond a 54-50 lead. Fordham had two shots to pull to within one over the next 1:30 but Haynes and Blackgrove both missed three-pointers and the Spiders would hit six of their eight free throws over the final minute to secure the victory.
Both teams were cold from the field in the first half with Richmond shooting 27.6% (8-29) to Fordham's 36.0% (9-25) as the game was tied at 24 at the intermission. Richmond opened the game with a 12-4 run to take an eight-point lead 5:46 into the game but the Rams battled back, using a 17-7 run to take a 21-19 lead with 3:29 remaining in the half.
Blackgrove led the Rams with a game-high 20 points, his fourth 20-point game in the last five, while Haynes finished with 16 points and five rebounds and Glenn Batemon added six points and seven rebounds.
