MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - First-year head coach LaRee Sugg earned women's golf Coach of the Year and freshman Elizabeth Cushing was chosen Freshman of the Year following the Spiders' fourth-place finish at the inaugural CAA women's golf championships.
Sugg guided her first-year program to several highlights this season, including the team's lowest round of the year (329), on the second day of the championship (April 21). Cushing finished tied for 12th after carding a three-round 245 (83-80-82) at the par-72 Salisbury Country Club. Her 80 in the second round is the lowest of her collegiate career.

Classmate Lesley Monachino was the third Spider to finish in the top-20 when she fired an 86-77-92-255. Her second-round 77 tied for the second lowest of any participant on Monday and marked Richmond's lowest individual round of the year.
