UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond department of athletics announced the signing of 12 student-athletes that will join the track & field program for the 2003-04 academic year.
Second-year women's head coach Lori Taylor will welcome 10 freshman, while second-year men's head coach Steve Taylor welcomes two from this class.
"We are extremely excited about the quality and diversity of these student-athletes," Lori Taylor said. "Most of them have competed on the national level in high school and have experience competing at the highest level in their events. This recruiting class will add depth and quality to all areas of our team."
"We believe this is the best recruiting class to enter the University of Richmond," Steve Taylor said. "Last year's class was outstanding, and these young men and women add to an already talented group. These student-athletes will be our leaders. This program's goals are the same as these incoming student-athletes, to qualify for the NCAA."
