Women's Golf Completes First Round At Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Freshman Lauren Brown carded the lowest round in team history - 74 - and is tied for 15th after the first round at the inaugural Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Golf Club in Charleston, S.C. The Spiders combined for their lowest team round in program history - 326.
A native of Phoenix, Ariz., Brown's two-over-par 74 is three shots better than the previous record. Lesley Monachino fired a 77 in the CAA Championship's second round last spring.
Brown and the Spiders are currently 16th after shooting a first-round 326. Classmate Ashley Lambert carded an 80 in the first round, tying for 55th. Sophomores Elizabeth Cushing (84/T-76), Whitney McComis (88/T-85) and Lauren Ritter (88/T-85) also competed.
The second round will be completed this evening with the final round beginning tomorrow morning.
