
Women's Golf Earns Highest Finish In Program History

PRINCETON, N.J. - A third- and fourth-place individual performance propelled the Richmond women's golf team to its best finish in program history - third -- at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
Freshman Ashley Lambert finished just three shots behind individual medallist Sharla Cloutier of Princeton and one shot better than teammate Lauren Ritter to earn the Spiders' best placement - third - in two years of varsity competition.
The Bradenton, Fla. native, who now leads the team with a 77.5 scoring average, shot matching 77s for a two-round 154.
Ritter, a native of Watchung, N.J. followed a first-round 77 with a 78 today at the par-72 Springdale Golf Course.
Another freshman that has competed in all six rounds this fall, Lauren Brown tied for 32nd after shooting 84-81-165. Sophomores Whitney McComis (83-88-171/T-64) and Elizabeth Cushing (86-90-176/T-64) also competed for head coach LaRee Sugg.
The Spiders return to action at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky. From October 3-5.
