Women's Soccer Plays Final Home Contests of Season

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's soccer team will play its final home games of the season this weekend as they host Saint Bonaventure on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Duquesne on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The Spiders' six seniors will be recognized in a brief ceremony prior to Friday night's contest.
The first 50 children through the gates will receive free Brine mini-balls and members of the women's soccer team will be available for autographs following the contest.
Richmond (5-5-1, 4-1-0) is coming off a 2-0 loss to Rhode Island last Sunday afternoon. After scoring the game-winning goal in the Spiders' 1-0 win over Massachusetts (10/8), senior Meghan Ogilvie leads Richmond with three goals.
Saint Bonaventure (8-6-0, 1-4-0) is the leading the Atlantic 10 in six statistic categories, including shots, points, goals and assists and recorded its first conference win last weekend with a 2-1 double overtime victory at La Salle. Junior Heather MacDougall, the reigning conference co-Player of the Week, leads the league, and is currently tied for eighth in the nation, in scoring with 14 goals.
Richmond leads the all-time series 2-1-0 but fell ton the Bonnies 2-1 in double overtime in last year's meeting.
Duquesne (7-7-0, 2-3-0) is back on the field at George Washington on Friday night after last Sunday's 3-1 loss to Fordham. Two players, freshman Audra Matthews and senior Katie Schwager, lead the Dukes with seven goals each and Matthews' ten assists pace the league and tie for ninth in the country.
Richmond leads the all-time series 3-0-0 and has outscored the Dukes by a 6-1 margin in the three meetings. In the last meeting, the Spiders earned a 3-0 win.
