UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshmen Carrie Holland and Christine Wrublesky each scored goals in the University of Richmond women's soccer 2-0 victory over Duquesne University this afternoon at First Market Stadium. The Spiders, with their second straight win, improve to 7-5-1, 5-2-0 in the conference while the Dukes fall to 7-8-1, 2-4-1 in the league.
"I am happy with the way that we are playing right now," Richmond head coach Peter Albright stated. "We are getting better each week and our backline is maturing with the added experience."
Richmond took a 1-0 lead at the 36:12 point after Holland knocked the ball past the Duquesne goalkeeper after a scramble in front of the net.
In second half action, Wrublesky scored her first career goal off a 10-yard rebound shot with just over ten minutes remaining in the game. Holland was credited with the assist.

Junior Kelly Kolker earned her fifth win of the season in the net for the Spiders with two saves. Duquesne goalkeeper Rachel Gecik made seven saves for the Dukes.
