Richmond Track and Field Adds Two Staff Volunteers

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Kevin Rhue and Donta'e Bugg have joined the Richmond track & field staff, Lori Taylor, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, and Steve Taylor, head men's coach, announced today.
Rhue, a former Spider runner, and Bugg, a current law school student at Richmond, were hired as volunteer assistant coaches for the upcoming 2004-05 track and field seasons. Rhue will work primarily with Richmond's middle distance runners, while Bugg will provide assistance to the Spiders' hurdlers and sprinters.
Rhue, who finished his career as a Spider track athlete in 2004, earned 29th place at the 2003 NCAA Regional Cross Country Championships as a senior. He then went on to capture the 2004 Atlantic 10 Conference's 1500 meter title and qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships. During the 2003-04 indoor season, Rhue, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., placed second in the mile and earned All-Conference honors in the mile and distance medley relay.
Bugg was a member of the Maryland Terrapins track and field team from 1999-2002 and left Maryland as one of its top indoor and outdoor sprinters. The Newport News, Va., native served as team captain as a senior for the Terps and was also honored as an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference performer in 2002. He finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles at the 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships. He also was a member of the Maryland 400 meter relay team which placed fifth at the ACC Championships in 2002.
