Bucknor Earns Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Jermaine Bucknor's career-high 22 points led Richmond to a 96-81 victory against UAB at the Robins Center on Friday, Dec. 17 and earned the Edmonton, Alberta native Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week honors.
Bucknor also reached career highs in field goals (8), three-point field goals (5) and assists (5) against the Blazers. His five helpers tied for the team lead while he led the Spiders with six rebounds.
After six games, missing the VCU game with a thigh contusion, Bucknor is third on the team with a 13.0 scoring average. He leads the squad with 7.2 rebounds per game and ranks second with six steals.
Bucknor is shooting 45.6 percent from the field (26-for-57) -- 42.9 (15-for-35) from behind the arc. He recorded his first career double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds against South Florida on Dec. 1.
The Spiders (4-3) return to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23 at Pittsburgh. The contest will be shown on espn2.
