
Women's Tennis Drops One to #45 Penn

Philadelphia, Pa. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team dropped a tough one to the University of Penn, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa. Despite the shutout, the Spiders forced four of the six singles matches to three sets. Richmond's record falls to 3-4 on the season, while the Quakers improve to 3-0.
Junior Lindsay Cox (Finchampstead, UK), sophomore Emily Applegate (Charleston, S.C.) and Beatrice Grasu (Reisterstown, Md.) gave Penn trouble and forced their matches to the third sets.
The Spiders are back in action Saturday, February 21 when they face Maryland at 11 a.m. The match will be played at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.
