Track And Field Step Up At GMU

FAIRFAX, Va.-Senior Tim Caramore (East Greenbush, N.Y.) turned in two top-five performances, yesterday, as the University of Richmond men's and women's track and field teams competed in the George Mason Invitational. Four first places finishes were captured by the women's team.
Caramore finished second in the 1-mile (4:17.32) and fifth in the 800-meter (1:59.58).
Juniors Clement Johnson (Bishopville, Md.) and Brett Walton (Bridgewater, Va.) also turned in top-five finishes. Clement tied for fifth in the 60M dash (7.12), while Walton finished fourth in his flight of the shot put (11.31M).
Junior Ashley Bell (Glen Allen, Va.) claimed the 55M hurdles in 8.32 for a first-place, while freshman Caitlin Smyth (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) ran the 3000M in 10:10.83 for first-place.
Senior Cortney Henschke (Rye, N.H.) and freshman Beth Crocus (Bethlehem, Pa.) claim top-finishes in the high jump (1.53M) and weight throw (12.58M), respectively.
The Spiders are back in action on February 13-14th in the Virginia Tech Invitational.
