Student-Athletes Receive Conference Accolades

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Three University of Richmond student-athletes were named to the Atlantic 10 weekly honor roll, announced by the conference today. Senior A.J. Board of the baseball team was named co-Player of the Week and Track & Field's Lindsey Smith were tabbed co-Performer and co-Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Caramore (East Greenbush, N.Y.) placed eighth overall in the 3,000M steeplechase at the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 22nd. He recorded a personal-best 9:06.61 and qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships. This is his league-leading third honor of the season.
Smith (Pottsville, Pa.) recorded a new school record in the javelin with a throw of 149-06, which surpassed her previous 144' mark. She claimed second overall at the elite Penn Relays and will move up in the NCAA rankings. This is her third consecutive accolade.
Board earned his second A-10 honor after finishing the week (April 20-25) 9-for-16, including six RBI and six runs scored. In the second contest on Saturday against Duquesne, Board went 3-for-3 including two doubles and on Sunday he tallied four hits and three RBI. The Raleigh, N.C. native leads the team with a .316 batting average and is tied for first with 43 hits.
