Baseball Battles James Madison This Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond baseball team faces James Madison University this week for its final non-conference series of the season. The Spiders will first travel to Harrisonburg, Va. on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and then they will host the Dukes on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Richmond (28-20, 15-6 A-10) is coming off a three-game sweep of A-10 rival La Salle this past weekend and the Dukes (26-23, 7-14 CAA) have lost their last 10 games. Tuesday is the 85th meeting between the two squads and JMU leads the series, 40-43-1, however UR has won eight of the last ten.
Senior A.J. Board leads the Spiders offensive attack with a .331 batting average and he is second on the team in hits (56), home runs (6) and RBI (42). Second baseman Ben Zeskind is second on the team with a .309 batting average including a team-best 20 doubles and 58 hits.
The Dukes post a .296 team batting average and Mike Butia leads the team in batting average (.370) and home runs (17). Despite losing its last three home contests JMU posts a 19-10 home record and it is 7-13 on the road.
