Women's Soccer Announces Incoming Class

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's soccer program has announced that four players, Carrie Holland, Ali LeVine, Emily Souleret and Christine Wrubleski, have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Spiders for the 2004 season.
"We're very excited about the concentrated talent and athletic ability of this class," head coach Peter Albright said. "These four players are outstanding students, athletes and young women who will contribute immediately to our program and become building blocks for the future."
Holland, a forward from Pittsfield, Mass., led both St. Joseph's Academy and Brekshire AJAX Club in scoring last year.
"Carrie in an explosive, physical player who can score a lot of goals as a forward, but can play multiple positions on the field."
A native of Avon, N.J., LeVine was a four year varsity starter at Red Bank HS and served as team captain as a senior. In addition, she played forward for both the Medford Strikers and the New Jersey ODP squad that finished third at Nationals.
"Ali is a very hardworking player. She plays well with her back to the goal and is a strong finisher."
The reigning District Player of the Year, Souleret led Lee Davis HS in scoring for the past three seasons, with 25 in her senior campaign. A native of Mechanicsville, Va., she also played at forward for the AC Alliance Soccer Club.
"Emily has a great work rate, tremendous acceleration and is a natural finisher."
Wrubleski, a midfielder from Langhorne, Pa., captained the Neshaminy HS squad while also playing for the FC Bucks Club team and the EPYSA State ODP team. In addition, she played for the Langhorne Strikers, three-time state champions and the 2000 Region I champion.
"Chris is an outstanding athlete and a very poised, intelligent player."
The Spiders open the 2004 season on Friday, August 27 when they host JMU at 7:00 p.m.
