
Jermaine Bucknor Excels For Team Canada

BEIJING, China - University of Richmond men's basketball junior Jermaine Bucknor has reached double figures in two of three games for Canada's Senior Men's National Team in the Four Nations Tournament being held this month in China.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Bucknor averaged 9.0 points and 5.7 rebounds during the first round of competition in Beijing. The 6-6 forward shot .526 (10-for-19) from the field and .400 (4-for-10) from behind the arc, in addition to producing 1.7 steals per game.
In the tournament opener, Bucknor scored 13 points (4-for-6), snared eight boards and blocked two shots in an 84-70 defeat to host China on July 9. Bucknor posted 10 points and four steals in a tournament-high 29 minutes during an 89-86 overtime triumph over Croatia on July 10. In the most recent contest, Bucknor scored four points and corralled five rebounds as Canada fell to Brazil, 90-85, on July 11.
Canada returns to action against the Chinese Olympic National Team on July 14. Bucknor and his teammates will then face Croatia on July 15 and Brazil on July 16. All three matches will be held in Urumqui, China.
