UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Spiders take a two-game conference win streak to Massachusetts for a Noon tip against the Minutemen on Saturday. The contest will be shown on the Atlantic 10 Television Network, Comcast SportsNet in Richmond.
The Spiders are 3-1 all-time against Massachusetts but lost their only prior visit to Amherst.
Richmond has had five players reach double figures in each of the past two games. For the first time this season, four Spiders are averaging 10.0 points or better.
Following their 12th road game of the season, Richmond returns home for a three-game home stand that begins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday against Duquesne.
STORYLINES
*Richmond has won back-to-back games for the first time since the season's opening contests. The Spiders, winners in three of their last four, snapped an eight-game road losing streak with a 78-71 victory at La Salle on Wednesday.
*Richmond is 0-1 in Amherst. UMass captured the Spiders' only visit to this point, 54-53, on Feb. 12, 2003 in the Minutemen's only win of the series. The average margin of victory in the four previous meetings is 4.5 points.
*The Spiders have had five players reach double figures in back-to-back games and four times this season (3-1).
*Junior Jermaine Bucknor responded with 18 points at La Salle after scoring just three points -- his second lowest total of the season -- against GW. The Spiders are now 6-1 when Bucknor makes three-or-more triples in a game.
*Richmond shot 92.3 percent from the free throw line at La Salle, its best performance from the charity stripe since going 14-for-14 at Wake Forest on Dec. 6, 2003. At La Salle, the Spiders were 8-for-8 from the line in the last five minutes when Richmond closed with a 14-5 run.
*Richmond tied a season high with 10 three-pointers at La Salle. The Spiders also notched 10 against UAB on Dec. 17.
*The Spiders have been out-rebounded in each of the past eight games.
