Spiders Use Big Run to Put Away McNeese St., 58-50

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jermaine Bucknor had 17 points and Peter Thomas added a career-high 13 points to lead Richmond to a 58-50 win over McNeese St. on Saturday.
Bucknor and Thomas combined for 11 points during a 21-4 Richmond spurt midway through the first half.
The Spiders (2-1) had a 23-14 lead following the nine minute, 24 second spurt. During it, the Cowboys were 2-for-10 from the floor and committed eight of their 10 first half turnovers.
The Cowboys (2-1) pulled to 28-23 before Richmond finished with a 31-25 halftime lead.
The Spiders moved their lead to 14 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game when Thomas's 3-pointer gave the 47-33 lead. McNeese St. could get no closer than four.
Bucknor was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and Drew Crank contributed a career-high 10 points. J.T. Williams led the Cowboys with 20 points, including 5-of-7 on 3-pointers.
