Spiders Ride Scott's Perfect Performance To Down Bonnies, 86-68

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Jamaal Scott was 7-for-7 from the field and scored 17 points and Richmond used a 17-0 run bridging the halves to run away from St. Bonaventure on Saturday night, sending the Bonnies to their fifth consecutive loss, 86-68.
The Spiders (13-14, 8-8 Atlantic 10) trailed 32-31 after Ahmad Smith capped a 20-9 run for the Bonnies with a 3-pointer 3:17 before halftime. But Daon Merritt scored five points in a half-ending 11-0 burst, and Scott hit two field goals just after halftime.
Trailing 48-32, the Bonnies (2-25, 1-15) never got closer than 12 again.
Merritt, making his first appearance since injuring his right knee against George Washington on Feb. 12, added 15 points and matched his career high with eight assists for the Spiders. Kevin Steenberge added 15 points and Jermaine Bucknor had 10.
Michael Lee scored a career-best 21 points for the Bonnies and Smith added 18.
