Walton Named To Academic All-Atlantic 10 Outdoor Squad

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond senior Brett Walton was named to the 2005 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-Conference squad Tuesday afternoon, as announced by league officials. The honor is Walton's first in his outdoor career and the fourth Academic All-Conference honor over his four-year career at Richmond.
Walton, now a Richmond graduate, finished his career as a Spider last week when he took home the Decathlon title at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Richmond, Va. The Bridgewater, Va., native and English major, earned All-Conference honors for the second time in as many outdoor seasons with the event win (6,176 points).
Earlier this year, Walton was named to the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Academic All-Conference team for the third-straight time.
