Track & Field Competes At University Of Maryland Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Richmond men's and women's indoor track & field teams returned to competition after over a month off, competing at the non-scoring University of Maryland Invitational on Saturday.
On the women's side, freshman Jessica Young finished third in the 60-meter dash in 7.56 seconds and also took third in the 200 dash in 25.18 seconds.
Junior Beth Crocus finished third in the weight throw with a school-record heave of 52-feet-6 3/4 and took 13th in the shot put with a toss of 38-2 3/4. Junior Lindsey Smith finished sixth in the weight throw with a heave of 48-0 3/4, which is a personal best by four feet.
Freshman Jasmine Major finished 10th in the 60 hurdles in 9.02 and placed 11th in the 60 dash in 7.91 seconds.
Senior Danielle Eaton placed 11th out of 57 runners in the 800 in 2:22.09 and senior Nicole Kurtain finished 11th in the 3,000 in 10:59.27. Freshman Lisa Sinkovitz took 18th out of 55 runners in the mile run in 5:18.01.
Senior Amy Thesing finished 15th in the 800 in 2:23.56 and senior Diana Morse placed 22nd in the 800 in 2:26.87. The Spiders finished fifth in the distance medley relay in 12:40.60.
On the men's side, junior Rusty Burrell tied for sixth in the high jump, clearing 6-2. Senior John Ciccarelli took 16th in the mile run in 4:30.66 and sophomore Hunter Willis finished 25th in the 3,000 in a time of 9:09.7. Richmond finished 11th in the distance medley relay in 11:06.75.
