UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After being on the road for A-10 action last weekend, the Richmond women's soccer team returns home to host the Charlotte 49ers on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
The Spiders (1-10-2 overall, 1-3-0 in the A-10) just dropped two A-10 contests over the weekend, falling short 2-1 in an overtime battle with George Washington before dropping 3-0 at La Salle. Kristen Stalter, Julia Bizer and Nora Mann lead the Spiders in scoring with two goals apiece on the season.
The 49ers (8-4-2 overall, 3-1-0 in the A-10) are coming off a split weekend when they fell 2-1 at La Salle and won an overtime victory, 3-2, with George Washington. Led by Nikki Labuda with seven goals and two assists, the 49ers have won five of their last six games.
The 49ers hold a 1-0 advantage in the Richmond-Charlotte series after last year's 2-1 double-overtime victory over the Spiders.
Following Saturday night's competition, the Spiders will resume league play next weekend as they head to New York to face St. Bonaventure and Fordham.
Live coverage (both gametracker and video) of Saturday's contest will be available at www.RichmondSpiders.com.
