GLEN ALLEN, Va. - The Richmond women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Spider Fall Invitational played Monday at a very challenging Virginia Crossings Golf Club.
The Spiders shot a 333 and trail fifth-place Boston College (332) by one stroke and fourth-place Marshall (327) by six. Richmond will tee off in the second and final round on Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.
"I don't feel like we played up to our potential today," Richmond head coach Leighann Rastede Albaugh said. "I think we could be in a better place mentally. Instead of I can't we need more I will and I can."
Richmond senior Ashley Lambert and sophomore Rosario Germino are tied for 14th after each shooting 9-over-par 81s on the par-72, 6,038-yard Tradition Course.
