Richmond women's soccer freshman midfielder Kelsey Rdzanek is the Woodfin Home Team Student-Athlete of the Week after posting the game-winning goal in the Spiders' 3-2 win over the Fordham Rams on Sunday.
Rdzanek led the Spiders to their second victory of the season as she notched the game-winning goal after taking a pass from teammate Nora Mann to beat the Rams' keeper from 15 yards out, earning her first collegiate goal. She recorded two shots and two points in the Spiders' split 1-1 week.
The Saranac Lake, N.Y. native has played in 16 games thus far this season, earning nine starts. She joined the Spiders from Saranac Lake High School where she enjoyed a standout career, being selected to the All-State fourth team and the All-Conference Team for two years straight, in addition to being named the All-Conference MVP, the Gatorade High School MVP and the Regional Final Player of the Year after scoring both goals in the finals.
The Spiders return to action this weekend for their final two contests of regular season play. Richmond will host Dayton on Friday in a special senior night contest and Xavier on Sunday.
