Men's Basketball Plays At Wake Forest On Friday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Richmond men's basketball team makes just its third road trip of the season when the Spiders play at Wake Forest on Friday night at 7 p.m. in Lawrence Joel Coliseum.
The Spiders (4-5) are playing the Demon Deacons (6-4) for the sixth-straight season and this will be the 45th all-time meeting between the two schools. This is the first of two road trips to ACC schools in the next two weeks for the Spiders, who play at Virginia Tech on Jan. 3.
All six of Richmond freshmen have scored in double-figures through six games after Kevin Hovde scored a career-high 24 points against VMI on Wednesday. Freshman Dan Geriot leads the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game, having reached double digits in six games. Six of Richmond's top seven scorers are freshmen.
Spider sophomore Jarhon Giddings played his senior year of high school at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem He led the team to a 25-4 record and berth in the state championship game. Giddings is in his third year at Richmond, but his career has been nagged by stress fractures in his shin.
Richmond senior Gaston Moliva was in uniform for the first time this season on Wednesday night. Moliva is still recovering from surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot and is not expected to play for a few more games.
The Spiders are in the midst of a stretch where they play just two games in 17 days. The Spiders return home to host Tulane on Dec. 28 in the Robins Center at 7 p.m. A women's basketball game against Marshall is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
