Geriot Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond freshman Dan Geriot was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games last week.
Geriot tied a career-high 21 points to go with three rebounds in just 23 minutes of action against Wake Forest on Dec. 22. He made 8-of-10 shots from the field, including 1-of-2 3-pointers. The Springfield, Pa. native scored 10 points grabbed a career-high six rebounds and had three assists vs. VMI on Dec. 20.
Geriot has scored in double-figures in seven of 10 games and is leading the Spiders in scoring at 14.2 points per game. He has scored 18 points or more five times in Richmond's 10 games.
Geriot is Richmond's first Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week since Gaston Moliva earned the award on Feb. 15, 2004.
Richmond is 4-6 with three non-conference games remaining, beginning Thursday with Tulane visiting the Robins Center. Geriot is one of six freshmen playing at least 13 minutes per game for the youthful Spiders. Five of Richmond's top six scorer's are freshmen and six of the top eight.
