This was George Washington's first win in the Robins Center since Dec. 22, 1979. Richmond had won the past five meetings between the two teams in Richmond, including the first four conference games.

No. 7 ranked George Washington was the highest ranked opponent to play in the Robins Center since No. 4 ranked North Carolina defeated the Spiders 84-65 on Nov. 19, 1997.

Richmond committed a season-low seven turnovers against No. 7 ranked George Washington after having 22 turnovers in the first meeting between the two teams Feb. 5 in Washington, D.C.

Richmond has only allowed over 70 points twice this season. In four games against ranked opponents, the Spiders have allowed over 65 points just once.

Senior Jermaine Bucknor set a career high with six 3-pointers. Bucknor had made five 3-pointers in a game five times in his career, including three times this season. The last time a Spider made six 3-pointers in a game was almost a year ago. On Feb. 19, 2005 Patrick O'Malley made six 3-pointers against Temple.

This was the 11th time this season and the 22nd time in his career that Bucknor had made at least three 3-pointers in a game. Richmond had won nine of 10 games this season that Bucknor made at least three 3-pointers before tonight.

Bucknor now has 142 3-pointers, which moves him into seventh on the all-time list for 3-pointers, passing Curtis Blair (141).

Bucknor reached double figures for the 18th time this season and 38th time in his career. It was the sixth-time this season he has scored 20 or more points and the eighth time he has done so in his career.

The Spiders have lost six-straight games after starting the season 11-8.

Richmond tied a season-high with 10 3-pointers in a season-high 33 attempts.

The Spiders have allowed over 60 points in the past six games, after doing so only twice through the first 19 games.

Richmond's five starters all played at least 33 minutes, led by a full 40 minutes by junior guard Peter Thomas. Fellow guard Oumar Sylla played 36 minutes, yet the two combined for just four turnovers against GW's pressure.

Senior Kevin Steenberge had two blocks, which gives him 60 on the season and 143 on his career. He needs five blocks to tie Tim Faulconer for the third spot on the single-season list. Steenberge is second on the school's all-time career list for blocks and would need 40 blocks to tie all-time leader Faulconer at 183.

Sophomore Oumar Sylla made a career-high five field goals and tied his career high for points with 12.

Many in the season-high crowd of 8,182 were wearing pink to support those who have suffered from breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will receive $2 from every ticket sold.

The newest members of the Richmond Athletics Hall of Fame were honored at halftime. Tennis player Richard Razzetti ('85), three-sport athlete Dr. Lindsay Struthers Bell ('71), football star Pat Turchetta ('70) and basketball star Peter Woolfolk ('88) were inducted earlier Saturday afternoon. Woolfolk was also honored with his teammates on the 1988 Sweet 16 team, which was being honored as the Hall's Team of Distinciton.
