Richmond Head Chris Mooney
On The Game
"Obviously, I think we played well. I thought our defense was terrific, especially in the first half. It was hard for them to get the ball inside to (Rashaun) Freeman and (Stephane) Lasme, who are very good players. We made it difficult for them. They got a couple in, but not nearly as many as they probably wanted. All in all, I was very pleased with the effort and it was nice to get a win and enjoy that feeling again. I hope we'll build on it and get another home win before the conference tournament."
On The Team's Shooting
"Shooting is a pretty essential thing in basketball. When you make shots, it makes things so much easier and there is so much less pressure. And we were making them tonight and I think you saw how much that helped us."
On Making Two-Point Field Goals
"They came out in a zone. We made our first nine points off of threes and, when they played man, they started to extend themselves and we were able to get some drives and lay-ups. In the second half, we were able to get the ball into the post. Those two-point baskets are good to see and are huge for us."
Richmond Player Jermaine Bucknor
On Going Into The Conference Tournament
"We are definitely excited. The league is pretty wide open. Anyone can beat anyone in the league and the teams have changed. Whoever we play though, we are going to play hard."
Richmond Junior Peter Thomas
On The Importance Of Making Shots
"They came out in a 1-3-1 and Kevin hit the first three and Bucknor hit the second three, which is fitting since it is Senior Night. Once we hit a few threes, they dropped out of it and we were able to run our man offense."
Richmond Player Drew Crank
On The Rapid Substitutions By Richmond
"Coach wanted Gaston and I to come in on defense and Kevin and Monty to come in on offense. It definitely affected us positively. It kept us active on the bench."
Massachusetts Head Coach Travis Ford
On The Game
"This was one of those games where they played great and we played terrible. That pretty much sums it up. They deserved to win. They played great. They made some tough shots and our guys just weren't ready to play. I give Richmond a lot of credit - they were ready to play. They came out and needed this win and played like it. It was Senior Night and being back at home can do a lot for you to gain some confidence. They played like a team that had its back against a wall and they came out ready to play. We did not."
