Track & Field To Compete At Maryland Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Richmond track & field team will compete at the University of Maryland Invitational on Saturday.
The one-day meet will start at 10 a.m. at Kehoe Field on the campus of the University of Maryland.
The Spiders are coming off a successful weekend at the 2nd Annual Fred Hardy Invitational which was hosted on the Richmond campus last Friday and Saturday. Richmond set five school records and posted eight first-place finishes.
Freshman Jessica Young won both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, setting a school record in the 400 (55.93) and tying the school record in the 200 (24.81). She was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the fifth time. Fellow freshman Jasmine Major won the 100 dash in a school record time of 12.09 seconds. She also won the 100 hurdles in 14.73.
Senior Nicole Kurtain won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in a school record time of 10:55.94 and junior Beth Crocus set a school record in the women's hammer with a throw of 167-feet-3, taking third.
