Women's Tennis Advances In A-10 Tournament With 4-0 Win Over Temple

MONROEVILLE, Pa. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team topped the eighth-seed Temple Owls on Friday at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. on their way to capturing their third consecutive Atlantic 10 title. The first-seed Spiders, now 12-7, have won the conference championship in three of the last four years of league competition and will continue their quest for another title tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.
Beatrice Grasu and Robin Carter paired up at No. 2 doubles to take an 8-6 win and the Pamela Duran/Ashlee Vosters duo breezed by its opponent at third doubles to give the Spiders a 1-0 advantage going into singles action.
While Grasu, Duran, and Robin Carter picked up a win at third singles and teammate Meghan Wolfgram took a 6-2, 6-0 win at fourth singles. Vosters secured a 3-0 singles advantage for the Spiders after breezing by her opponent at fifth singles and the Spiders ended the match with a 4-0 lead.
